Job PurposeReporting to the Corporate Controller, the Corporate Accountant is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial statements, supporting corporate accounting functions, and assisting with audit processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, corporate financial practices, and experience working with audits. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of financial reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesCorporate Accounting:Maintain and manage the general ledger and ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded.Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP or IFRS.Assist with the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.Reconcile accounts, including bank accounts, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.Perform month-end and year-end closing activities.Audit Support:Prepare documentation and provide support for both internal and external audits.Collaborate with auditors to facilitate the audit process, providing necessary financial data and clarifications.Implement and monitor internal controls to ensure financial data accuracy and compliance.Assist with the resolution of any audit findings or pliance & Reporting:Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, tax laws, and corporate policies.Assist in the preparation of regulatory filings and tax returns.Monitor and analyze changes in accounting standards and regulations to ensure continued compliance.Cross-Functional Collaboration:Work closely with other departments, such as Legal, HR, and Operations, to gather financial information for corporate reporting and audit purposes.Support the finance team in ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting tasks.Process Improvement:Identify opportunities for improving financial processes and internal controls.Assist in implementing new accounting systems or process enhancements.QualificationsQualifications and ExperienceEducation: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA preferred).Experience: 3-5 years of experience in corporate accounting or audit, with experience in both areas preferred. Experience working in a corporate environment and knowledge of audit processes.Required skills:Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP or IFRS) and audit standards.Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlinesWe expect all associates to conduct business in accordance with our values; Safety, Integrity, Commitment to Excellence, Team, Service, and Can Do positive attitude.
