ABOUT BALTIMORE COUNTRY CLUB Baltimore Country Club was founded in 1898 and it was a success from the start, with 600 members enjoying its 150-acre facility less than five miles from downtown Baltimore. Just one year after opening, the Club gained immediate recognition in the golf world by hosting the fifth United States Open Championship. A DAY IN THE LIFE AS AN STAFF ACCOUNTANTReporting to the CFO and Assistant Controller, the Staff Accountant oversees high-volume hospitality accounting on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. Responsibilities include managing accounts payable, preparing various monthly and ad-hoc reports for management and Club committees, handling monthly allocations of prepaid and accrued expenses, conducting inventory counts and reconciliations, researching transactions and presenting findings, reconciling and preparing returns for monthly sales, liquor, and admissions taxes, and assisting with the annual audit process. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accrual-basis accounting principles, theories, and terminology, as well as the ability to interpret technical financial information and apply the Club's financial policies and procedures. A successful candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and eager to take ownership of processes and responsibilities while maintaining a positive and engaging attitude.QUALIFICATIONS Bachelors Degree in related field and at least 2 years of Accounts Receivable experience strongly preferred.Requires a polished and professional demeanor in manner and appearance.Solid judgement, ability to anticipate, and skilled in multi-tasking at a high level.Excellent communication and membercustomer service skills.High attention for detail and great organizational skills.Strong computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite- Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook; 10-Key by touch; ability to type 60-65 wpm.Must have the ability to sit for prolonged periods of time.Must be available to work flexible hours to assist with Club & Member events. Must be able to speak and write in English.Experience working in a Country Club or Hospitality environment is strongly preferred, but not required. Do you work well as part of a team?
