Staff Accountant

Trillium Professional is now seeking a Staff Accountant for direct-hire in Livonia! This position involves various accounting functions related to the management, development, and analysis of the organization's General Ledger. The role includes recording and reconciling assessments, managing bank accounts, and performing reconciliations. Additionally, the role contributes to the preparation of financial statements. Key Responsibilities -Manage and reconcile the organization's bank accounts, including statements and checking accounts. -Process and import scheduled claim payments into the automated system, and reconcile and post claims payment recovery. -Oversee the general ledger, ensuring accurate tracking and coding of cash receipts, payroll, and accounts payable. Monitor daily cash flow to ensure sufficient funds are available for claims and operating checks. -Organize consolidated financial data, preparing various journal entries and statements on a quarterly and annual basis. -Reconcile exposure reports of member companies, manage invoicing, and follow up on outstanding assessments. Provide clarification on the assessment process, policy exceptions, and grievance issues. Escalate exceptions to management for further review. -Support the Controller and Assistant Controller in their roles during their absence. -Act as a resource for external auditors, answering questions and providing necessary documentation as required. -Assist in the development and enhancement of financial information systems and related projects. Additional Responsibilities -The employee in this role may be tasked with other duties as required to support the team. The listed responsibilities are not exhaustive. Annual salary is $70,000 - $80,000, based on experience. Higher compensation may be offered for candidates who exceed expectations.
