Senior Accountant

A social services organization in New York City is actively seeking a Senior Accountant to join their staff. Responsibilities The Senior Accountant will: Prepare and review program financial statements as well as program related reports and project analysis Verify bank transactions to source documents and perform bank reconciliations and promptly follow-up on outstanding items Review program transactions and review, establish, and reconcile monthly mortgage billing to projects Respond to inquiries from projects, internal and external auditors, agency staff and other state agencies, where necessary Prepare program delinquency reports and analysis Prepare requisition of funds Review and document internal controls Perform other duties as required Qualifications 3+ years of related Accounting experience Bachelor's Degree in Accounting Mortgage and Bank Reconciliation experience Solid understanding of Financial Securities & Investments Computer savvy Microsoft Office proficient Solid analytical and mathematical skills Great interpersonal skills Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) Strong attention to detail Highly organized Desired Skills: Experience using industry SAP system(s)
