Civilian employees assigned to Corrections fulfill their role, complete their duties, and perform assigned tasks according to the elements, principles, and behavioral requirements of Inmate Behavior Management and Direct Supervision by collaborating with Corrections custody staff to manage incarcerated individual's behavior and basic needs.Oversees scheduling of personnel in the Social Services Division. Evaluates the performance of Social Service Workers at Franklin County Correction Centers 1 & 2. Plans strategies and prepares procedural orders for the handling of day to day operations in the Social Services Division in collaboration with the Director of Social Services. Supervises the coordination and implementation of inmate programming and services. Responds to inquiries from the public on inmate and corrections related issues.Carries a small caseload or provides direct services to inmates as needed in crisis or special situations, i.e., coverage due to absence of social service workers. Develop and maintain employee trainings.Collects and compiles monthly and annual programming data for statistical reporting purposes. Researches and prepares additional reports as needed. Prepares monthly and annual statistical reports to assists in preparing annual budget and grant funding for the Social Services Division.Other duties as assigned. Additional Requirements Master's degree in social or behavioral science, criminal justice, social work, or comparable field.Knowledge of community resources regarding employment, social services policy, program planning analysis, social program counseling and interviewing.Current certification or credentials in one of the following is preferred:Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor II (LICDC)Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW)Licensed Professional Counselor (PC) by State of Ohio Counselor and Social Work Board Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of management, supervision, Sheriff's office policies and procedures, work force planning, county and local government structure & process, counseling, interviewing. Ability to deal with an abstract field & determine specific actions, calculate fractions, decimals and percentages, write reports, policies, procedures and regulations, listen, comprehend and respond to discussions involving either one-on-one or group settings, develop good rapport with inmates. Establish and maintain effective relationships with those contacted in the course of the work. Work cooperatively and effectively within a team and the larger organizational setting Skilled in dealing with problems involving a variety of variables in a somewhat unfamiliar context, use of proper research methods in gathering data, establishing a friendly atmosphere as a supervisor of a work unit.
