This position must be familiar with the tools of thetrade and can read, follow, and understand blueprints, drawings, and workorders. Essential (Core Competencies) DutiesAccurately measure and read height, width,length, and other proportions with a tape measureAssist foreman with proper layout for work tobe put in placeFabricate or alter parts using grinders,sawzalls, shears, hammers, punches, or drillsJoin materials with PAFs, nails, screws,staples, or adhesivesUse levels, rules, plumb bobs, framing squares,and lasers to ensure everything is level and secureCheck work along the way to ensure it meetsspecification and quality standardsInstalluse rigging and hoisting equipmentInstall wall panel products according tospecifications and building codesManeuver units into position for installation,and anchor the unitsWork at heights with several elevated platformsKeep work area clean and productiveAlways exercise the proper use of PPESet up and safely use company equipmentMaintain welding certification throughmaintenance logs and supervisor observationQualificationsPreferredEducation and Experience:Participation in a secondary or post-secondarytrade curriculum1+ year experience with panel or structuralsteel installation1+ year experience with stick welding(optional)Knowledge and understanding of constructionsafety devices and PPERigging and Signaling experience is aplusCarpentry knowledgeKey Competencies:Self-motivated to grow personally andprofessionally through on-going education as a result of the rate of change inthe position.Conscientious with customers in areas such asmeeting customer needs, wants & expectations.Ability to successfully adapt (personally andprofessionally) to changes in the internal and external environmentAbility to build a relationship with anotherperson or group through effective communication skills (listening, speaking& behaving).Ability to focus on and meet target goals andobjectives.Ability to work effectively and productively asa member of a cross-functional teamProactively defining & resolving problemsbefore they become an issue, and identifying & resolving identifiedproblems for optimum resultsAbility to manage one's internal states,impulses and resources.Work EnvironmentPanelinstallers work indoors and outdoors on many types of construction projects,with varying degrees of exposure to the elements. This may include extreme heat(>85 degrees for longer than one hour of exposure), extreme cold (PhysicalRequirements ContinuedDue to the physical nature of the position,employee must have full dexterity of their hands and arms. Employee must be able to see objects close andfar awayAt times, multiple sounds can be heard asemployee is working on job, employee must have the ability to focus on thesound in particular that is associated with the task they are completing.
