The Route Sales Representative provides responsive, on-site sales and delivery support to customers at construction sites, ensuring they have access to products when and where they need them. This position helps maintain strong customer relationships by delivering personalized service, identifying needs, and offering tailored solutions. The Route Sales Representative positively represents JHL while on customer sites and provides related services to customers, performing on a professional level for JHL adhering to and implementing the corporate mission, philosophy, culture goals, objectives, policies, and procedures. Follow all traffic laws, DOT regulations, and best practices for safety while on the roadWrite orders for customers and cross-sell to promote additional products that align with customer needs. Write and bill invoices for on-site sales from that dayAnswer questions, research and problem-solve customer orders, and respond to digital orders via phone, email, text etcLead generation: Identify and qualify potential customers through warm calls, emails, or inbound inquiries and grow customer relations through site visits and other customer engagement events. Partner with outside sales to meet expand current customer relationships.Provide feedback to management on pricing, service, products, customer needs etc.Load the truck, complete paperwork and reports related to deliveries as needed.Maintain accurate inventory management.Participate in market planning and implementation of market strategies, sales meetings, vendor training and vendor representative engagement.Perform basic truck maintenance such as refueling, making visual inspections, and reporting potential issues. Keep trucks clean and organized.QualificationsEducationHigh School Diploma or GEDExperience andor Training 2 years related sales experience (knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC components is preferred, knowledge of electrical components is helpful)Sales Skills. Ability to identify customer needs and recommend solutionsMath skills. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimalsAptitude for resolving customer inquiries or complaints quickly and efficientlyStrong oral and written communication skills. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations and to other employees of the organizationOrganized, detail oriented, strong time management skills.
