Want to join us?Your new roleThe Product Manager, Government and Funders Data Products, is responsible for leading the product management activities for the Dimensions Cloud for Government, a specialized version of our core infrastructure and data analytics platform tailored to the unique needs of federal agencies. They will work in close collaboration with other members of our product development team (including developers, QA & UX) in order to shape, design, prioritise, and deliver high-quality product enhancements, to solve real business problems for our clients and users. The Product Manager, will also work closely with our client community to ensure client needs are embedded at the heart of our development processes. This role requires a deep understanding of data-driven decision-making in the federal sector, particularly in areas such as grants, funding, and research policy. The ideal candidate will be responsible for defining product requirements, ensuring seamless integration of key datasets, and aligning development efforts with FEDRAMP compliance mandates. The Data Products team is tasked with aligning data development requirements and priorities to the business objectives, monitoring and improving data quality, identifying new opportunities and handling communication with internal and external stakeholders. Whilst specialising in the Dimensions Cloud for Government, the Product Manager will be part of a larger product development organisation, focused on Digital Science's Government and Funders segment. They will need to have working knowledge of all the Government and Funders segment's products, in order to facilitate cross-team collaboration where relevant. What you'll be doingProduct management: Be a trusted product expert, consistently applying your deep knowledge of the business, customers, and technology to your product work. Provide visibility to and inspire confidence in all stakeholders, both external and internal, with respect to our product roadmap and development plans. Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success and regularly report on product performance to stakeholders.Data Needs: Review and assess data needs of government cloud customers and collaborate with the data team to drive new implementations.Have and apply a solid and pragmatic understanding of common Product Management practices, determining and applying the best framework or methodology for any given situation. Vision, strategy, and prioritisation: Guide the long-term strategy, vision, and roadmap for your product area, ensuring they directly contribute to revenue growth, customer satisfaction, and competitive advantage.Leverage insights from data analysis to identify opportunities for innovation and inform product strategy. Assess, manage, and communicate the prioritisation of features and initiatives, using data, client insights, and strategic alignment to determine their relative value, viability, and urgency. Monitor product performance, using data analytics, metrics, and user feedback to identify areas for optimization and make data-driven decisions. Maintain an awareness of our competitive landscape by undertaking research to understand how our products sit within the market. Product development and practice: Lead the end-to-end product development lifecycle, from ideation to launch and later to end-of-life, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality execution. Manage product ideation within your product areas (including idea generation, analysis, and documentation), continuously looking for the best way to solve business problems and improve user experience. Specify and validate requirements required for comprehensive product development, including the creation and maintenance of high-quality product artefacts such as PRDs, epics, and user stories. Own validation of development work ensuring delivery of value to the customer and business.Facilitate collaboration between members of our cross-functional product teams User experience and customer focus: Work with our UX team on user research activities to ensure the needs of our community are embedded within our product design and development practice. Collaborate with customer support and sales teams to gather customer feedback, identify pain points, and prioritise product improvements. This can include undertaking site visits and online meetings with current and prospective clients to gather feedback to inform product design and development. Be responsible for ensuring that we maintain a focus on product quality and compliance throughout the development cycle, working in partnership with engineering to ensure all newly developed features meet business requirements.Product success: Support the effective delivery and adoption of our software and services and to ensure our clients' needs are at the heart of product development. This includes working closely with the Clients Services, Customer Success and support teams.Create compelling content to maximise the adoption of our software solutions including documentation, training and webinars. Support the sales team and go-to-market strategies, including participation in RFPTender processes, product demonstrations, client meetings, and events. Wider responsibilities: Contribute positively to the overall team dynamic; participate in stand-up meetings, join planning and design sessions and retrospectives. Work collaboratively with Government and Funders Segment and greater Digital Science colleagues on wider company goals as appropriate. Other duties commensurate with the role as required to support the business. What you'll bring to the roleYou will have: Experience in software product management, discovery, and delivery. Demonstrated ability to figure out solutions to hard problems with many constraints, using sound judgement to assess risks, and deliver solutions. Proven ability to foster cross-functional collaboration among teams with diverse areas of expertise and responsibility, leveraging product management tools and frameworks to drive alignment and deliver results. Excellent verbal and written communication skills including strong presentation and relationship management skills. Highly developed organisational skills and ability to work with a high level of autonomy. Demonstrated ability to adapt projects in response to changing requirements. A passion for staying up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies. Experience: Proven experience in product management with direct exposure to FedRAMP (Moderate or High) andor DoD IL45, ideally within a SaaS, cloud infrastructure, or data analytics environment. DemonstrablePrior experience with federalFEDRAMP compliance standards is essential. Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of federal cybersecurity standards, cloud-based systems, security controls (FIPS and NIST 800-53) and the FEDRAMP authorization process. Familiarity with scientific research lifecycle and bibliometricsscientometrics is a plus. Additional highly desirable, but not essential criteria: Experience in FEDRAMP compliance procedures and regulations. Experience in andor domain knowledge of research analytics or scientific evaluation. Experience working with a remote and distributed team.
