Senior Accountant

Looking to join a privately-held management company overseeing multiple privately-held brother-sister entities ranging from advertising, to software development to manufacturing each with revenue up to $25 million? Peterson Bros., Inc. is seeking a full-time senior accountant for our Cranberry Township (Pittsburgh), PA office. In this position you will perform all accounting, budgeting and payroll functions for some of the entities andor the management company and work closely with controllers of related companies on various projects. Recent examples include application of newly issued software capitalization regulations, company organizational and start-up costs, and cash flow projections.Historically our accounting departments have consisted of our Controller who then receives ancillary support from various members of the team, so the successful candidate has to not just be OK with, but rather driven by, being hands-on. This is a great opportunity to learn all facets of our businesses and to have a real impact on their performanceResponsibilities Include:Monthly account reconciliationsProcessing payrollHandling AR, AP and bankingProducing monthly financial statementsFinancial budgeting and planningManaging employee personnel records - electronic and hard copyEmployee benefits administrationProcessing personnel changes and new-hire paperworkPOSITION REQUIREMENTS:Salary Range: $80,000 - $120,000Job Requirements:B.S. in Accounting A minimum of 5 years of experience as an accountant demonstrating increased responsibilitiesExperience with accounting softwareHighly proficient with Microsoft Excel (i.e. pivot tables, v-look-up)Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to successfully meet deadlinesHigh attention-to-detail with strong desire for accuracyPayroll processing experience Preferred SkillsExperience:CPA certification or 2-4 years experience in public accountingExperience with ADP and QuickBooks, or similar software applicationsA strong need for correctness.
