Every employee takes a person-centered approach that exemplifies the ICARE values (Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence) through empathic communication and partnerships between all persons.Job DescriptionSUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:NYC Health+Hospitals Payroll Practitioner carries out responsibility for payroll-related functionsGeneral tasks and responsibilities will include the below: Perform a wide variety of timekeeping and payroll activitiesCompute wage and overtime payments, calculating and updating payroll deductions, processing requests for off-cycle payments, and processing terminal payments.Reviewanalyze impact of job data changes on payroll and timekeeping transactionsMaintain payroll-related records, perform report reconciliations, and prepare reports and payroll-related calculationsSupport wage garnishment processingMaintain accurate timekeeping profiles for employeesMaintain and audit timekeeping data and reportsConduct regular analysis of various timekeeping reports to identify patterns, discrepancies and trends related to employee attendance, overtime and accrual usage.Provide professional and quality customer service to employees through adherence to the department's scripts, and in compliance with corporate policies and proceduresParticipate in special projects as assigned to support department goals and improve payroll and timekeeping processes.Minimum Qualifications1. A Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college with a major in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related area, plus two years of full-time, paid experience as the supervisor or the assistant supervisor of an entire payroll and timekeeping operation for at least seven hundred employees, one year of which must have been in a municipal hospital, or its equivalent, within the last five years; or, 2. High School graduation or equivalent plus six years of full-time, paid experience processing accounting, business transaction or public administration records, two years of which must be as described in (1); or, 3. A satisfactory equivalent combination of education and experience.
