Worker Compensation Claims Specialist

Foundation Risk Partners, one of the fastest growing insurance brokerage and consulting firms in the US, is adding a Claims Specialist to their growing team at the Durnan Group in Rockville Centre, NY.Claims Specialist works under direct supervision of the Vice President of Risk Management, receiving and processing incoming workers compensation claims, assisting in the claims management process and managing communication with regard to claims.This role requires working on-site at our Rockville, NY office 5 days a week. Responsible for managing data extraction regarding potential Claims from fax, email or other communication sourcesExamine, evaluates claims for denial, subrogation and possible fraud and report toEnter claims in system; review claims, updatecorrect information in systemAssist in maintaining all medical documentation and records regarding workers' compensation casesMake & maintain contacts (4 point contact) with client, adjuster, employee and providerReport claims to carrier and VP of Risk ManagementManage correspondence; answer emails and phone calls, note filesParticipate in claims reviews with Client representatives when neededEnsure all claimants complete all necessary paperwork regarding claim case, i.e. incident report, medical release form, LD forms and special programs are being carried out initiallyJob Competencies:Proficient computer skillsKnowledge of insurance related laws and medical and legal terminologyExcellent writtenverbal communication skills and ability to interact with personnel at various levelsExcellent organizational skillsStrong sense of accuracy and attention to detailAbility to exercise tact and discretion in handling of confidential materialAbility to manage multiple projects, tasks and priorities to achieve desired goalsAbility to work effectively with employees at all levels within the organizationEducation & Experience: 2 years insurance industry experience preferredAssociates degree preferred, or equivalent years of experienceEstablish and maintain effective liaising between claimant, adjuster, provider and client.Provide VP of Risk Management with weeklymonthly overview and assurances that all services have been effectiveThis range represents the estimated low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on factors including but not limited to performance, location, and experience.
