The Ticket Seller position is a seasonal position that starts in March and continues until the end of the baseball season. Sellers are responsible for maximizing individual ticket sales and revenue using the ticketing software, while also delivering exceptional customer service at the ticket windows. As a first point-of-contact for Nationals Park, it is critical that individuals are energetic, engaging, and display a strong sales and service focus during all interactions. The representative is responsible for processing single game and future event ticket sales, along with processing and distributing Will Call tickets to select events. This position should become well-versed with the MLB Ballpark app and help assist in any digital ticketing issues, as well as handling general customer service inquiries regarding policies, ballpark events, promotions and pricing.The Nationals are a military-friendly organization actively recruiting veterans and spouses. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesGreet guests with energy, positivity, and enthusiasm, answering patron questions and directing them to all appropriate locationsClearly demonstrate and communicate a strong knowledge of promotions, discounts and pricing, ballpark policies, and procedures, etc. Remain highly engaged and deliver exceptional customer service in resolving patron conflicts and complaintsEfficiently use the ticketing system to maximize ticket sales, process requests for games and parking at Nationals ParkTroubleshoot ticketing related issues, including but not limited to, print-at-home tickets, Ballpark app navigation and system useAssist in daily box office upkeep with maintenance, setup and breakdown, including preparing outside stanchions for guest queuingHelp with outside line management, including usher fans to available windows and answer any questions prior to purchasingHandle cash and credit payments of ticket orders and balance all payments, receipts, and vouchers nightlyOther duties as assignedRequirementsMinimum Education and Experience RequirementsApplicants must be 18+ years of ageHigh school diploma or equivalent required or equivalent military experience; College experience preferredPrevious customer service and retail sales experience, including prior cash handlingComputerized ticketing experience preferred, particularly the operating systemKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities necessary to perform essential functionsExceptional communication, interpersonal and organizational skills with focus of delivering exceptional customer serviceDemonstrate a strong work ethic with an innate sense of urgency and tenacityPossess the ability to multi-task, problem solve, and learn quickly to efficiently handle and succeed in rapidly changing business conditionsTeam oriented attitude, relationship building, professional demeanor and clean appearancePossess strong computer skills and comprehension of basic mathematicsAvailable to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and holidaysSuccessfully pass a pre-employment screening including background checkFluently bi-lingual in English and Spanish is preferredUphold Core Values: Excellence, Performance, and Accountability. Actual pay is based on several factors, including but not limited to the applicant's: qualifications, skills, expertise, educationtraining, certifications, and other organization requirements.
