FUNCTION:The Associate Registrar for Registration and Transfer Articulation serves as a key member in the Office of the University Registrar with primary responsibility for the evaluation and articulation of transfer credits according to established University policies, coordinating the registration process, final exam scheduling, withdrawal and leave of absence, readmission, and Consortium, domestic and foreign exchange. Supports quality student-centered services and assures compliance with federal & University policies.SUPERVISORY AUTHORITY:Responsible for providing supervision for various functions and work units. Formally plans, assigns, directs, and coordinates the work of these functions. Performs staff evaluations and makes recommendations regarding pay andor performance.NATURE AND SCOPE:Internal contacts include administrators, faculty, staff and students. External contacts include vendors, contractors, visitors, alumni and the general public.PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:Responsible for the setup and execution of the registration set-up, timeline, and process each semester.Provide administrative support for the annual review and update of the Student Reference Manual.Review departmentalUniversity policies and procedures and makes recommendations for change, when appropriate.Serve on assigned committees and participate in professional development activities as assigned.Perform special projects as assigned.Conduct research and statistical analysis on enrollment, grade distribution, student retention, and any other appropriate areas.Responsible for the management of the Consortium of Universities of the Washington Metropolitan Area and domestic exchange programs. Coordinates all registration activities for students participating in domestic exchanges or consortia (incoming and outgoing) and ensures that grades are recorded, and billing is reconciled.Prepares required reports.Oversee transcript distribution and enrollment verification municate regularly with appropriate staff in schools and colleges to assure compliance with academic policies and procedures.Develop, administer, and evaluate major programs or projects.Responsible for interacting and developing partnerships with other offices and work units, in order to attain goals and objectives.Serve as a member of the department's management team by participating in strategicplanning, staffing decisions, and other key areas.Provide training to faculty, staff and students.Provide system support and maintenance for the document imaging system.Remain current with enrollment best practices, policies, and processes, related technology, issues and challenges for college and universities.Develops and maintains an operational guide and manual as well as the Registrar's Calendarvisible online.Represent the office or work unit for various committees, work groups, and employee forums.Manage the establishment and maintenance of processes for the equitable and consistent administration of academic record keeping policies and procedures.Work collaboratively with direct reports to strategically plan the technological direction of procedures, processes, and policies.Examine and re-engineer operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures, and lead process change, as needed to develop and maintain modern and efficient operations for the office.Perform other duties as required.CORE COMPETENCIES:In-depth knowledge of registrar-related activities and higher education protocol.Demonstrated experience in the development and on-going maintenance of an integrated student information system, preferably Workday Student.Effective leadership and management skills, and the ability to inspire, train, and motivate.Ability to plan, organize, coordinate and supervise the work of others, as required.Ability to devise solutions to administrative problems.Ability to maintain the confidentiality of information.Ability to establish and maintain effective and harmonious work relationships with staff, faculty, students, alumni, university officials, and the general public.Demonstrated success in setting and accomplishing goals.Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.Success in project management with the ability to organize, lead, motivate successful teams.Possess excellent organizational, communication, customerstudent service, decision-making, judgement, problem-solving, and delegation skills.Ability to use independent judgment and to manage and impart information to a range of institutional colleagues.Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.Knowledge of records, retention, andor destruction policies and procedures.Ability and flexibility to prioritize, regroup and strategize.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred. Minimum of 5 years of managerial experience in a registrar's office or closely related enrollment management function in a higher education institution.Experience with complex student information systems, course registration, curriculum and enrollment planning software Experience in understanding of administrative registration matters across higher education. Strong understanding of best practices in student registration and records and understands the role of the Registrar in strategic enrollment management and student pliance Salary Range DisclosureExpected Salary Range: $90,000 - $100,000
