Through evidence-based, goal-centered, professionally supported programming, BBBS of NYC provides consistent support and guidance to matches that result in longer, stronger match relationships that advance young people's social-emotional development and academic progress across the five boroughs.JOB SUMMARY:Big Brothers Big Sisters of NYC seeks a Program Manager - Bilingual MandarinCantonese a to join our Community-Based Mentoring team. This individual must be bilingual in English and MandarinCantonese and will support our 1:1 Community Based mentoring program and report directly to an Associate Director. In this role, the Program Manager will directly manage 55 mentor matches and offer direct support to volunteer mentors (Bigs), youth (Littles), and their families. This individual will play an integral role in delivering accessible programming and supervision to our matches by leveraging their youth development experience, understanding of child safety protocols, and ability to deliver culturally competent, relevant support to our MandarinCantonese-speaking families. As a Program Manager, this person will be responsible for ensuring mentor matches develop high-quality, high-impact relationships that ignite potential in New York City youth. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Supervise a caseload of 55 matches (youth, their parentguardian and volunteers pairs) to achieve mutually successful mentoring experiences through on-going, monthly supervision with the goal of building an impactful, longer, stronger mentoring relationship; Must be able to conduct match supervision in both English and MandarinCantonese Maintain and document professional records of all supervision contacts; collect surveys on youth outcomes, the strength of the mentoring relationship and identify ongoing support needs. Monitor closely for safety, program compliance, goal achievement, and program satisfaction; immediately address and resolve issues that may arise.Conduct client and parent psychosocial interviews, write assessments, and collect supporting information from prospective program participants Regularly evaluate youth clients based on organizational guidelines and specific program goals to assess outcomes.Lead educational and recreational group activities andor special projects for mentoring pairs and parents based on emerging needs.Act as an advocate for youth and families by providing referrals, crisis intervention, and other additional resources. Identify and communicate qualitative and quantitative success within the organization. Other duties as assigned RequirementsJOB QUALIFICATIONS:Bilingual in English and MandarinCantonese A MUSTAssociate's Degree in relevant field with 4+ years of experience OR Bachelor's Degree in education, counseling, psychology, social services or related field with 1 - 3 years of direct service experience OR Master's Degree in mental health counseling, social work, education, or another relevant field with 0 - 2 years of experience OR 8+ years of experience may exempt applicants from education standards Knowledge of child safety and mandatory reporter protocols, alignment with an asset-based approach to supporting young people and volunteers Commitment to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion Adaptable and flexible; strong critical thinking and situational judgment; ability to build relationships; Strong administrative and organizational skillsExperience developing and managing relationships with youth clients, guardians, and volunteer mentors Knowledge and demonstrated experience with intake processes, and case management skills; Experience with conducting psycho-social interviews, a plusMust be proficient in MS Office: Word, Excel, & Outlook; Experience using Matchforce andor Innovative Mentoring systems, a plus Salary Description 54,000-56,000
