The Die Cutter is responsible for detecting cutting defects and informing the manager of possible problems.Essential DutiesResponsibilitiesRubbers and sets up diesSets-up die presses and makes ready for cuttingSets-up stripping unit on die pressGet first off approved for cutting Watch for Die cutting defects, and inform manager or production planner of possible problemsAbility to make die alterations Use fork truck and other equipment to move stock and other supplies as needed.Follow all safety and workplace rules and policiesHelp others as directed or when needed with other production operationsPerform routine maintenance and assists with repairs of equipmentFlexibility to move between other jobs, job classifications and buildings as directed by managementFosters a culture that values family, innovation, collaboration and empowermentFollows all safety and workplace policiesCompetencies and SkillsTechnical Die Cutting knowledgeBe able to set up both the clam shell and semi-auto die pressBe able to make-ready dies for the pressAbility and willingness to follow verbal and written directionAbility and willingness to stay focused on the jobKnow how to use and operate fork trucks and other equipment need to arrange stocks and suppliesAbility to direct other on the team as needed to increase productivityAbility to trouble shoot and solve problems that ariseAbility to demonstrate and apply our workplace valuesFlexibility to travel between multiple PD locationsDemonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working environment EducationCertificationHigh School Diploma or GEDPhysical Requirements and Working ConditionsWalking, sitting, bending, twisting, reaching, pushing, pulling and lifting up to 50 lbs. may be required throughout the workday
