About the job 1st Shift Manufacturing Engineer Team Lead Role ResponsibilityAssign duties, monitor quality and on-time delivery of staff workMaintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance of personnel and implement improvementsWork together with the Manufacturing Engineering Manager on staff developmentSet team priorities and initiatives that align with high level objectivesAnalyze and design lean manufacturing cells using effective systems and simulation tools to optimize, determine use of space, equipment, material, and personnelAssist in developing plant layout in planning rearrangement of facilities, equipment, and operations for better utilization of space within their assigned facilityWork closely with design, quality assurance and maintenance personnel to prevent problems with products and toolingfixtures within their assigned facilityEnsure manufacturing safety policies and procedures are enforced Stay informed with new manufacturing technologies and equipment to manufacture and reduce cost through efficienciesSupport current and new product introductions, APQPAssist Supplier Quality as needed to communicate and resolve supplier issuesDetermine and eliminate root causes and diminish occurrences in the manufacturing processEnsure that all manufacturing product specifications are developed, and testing procedures are in place per APQPReduce costs through Lean ManufacturingMonitor and in conjunction with the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, update Metrics on a regular basisSupervisory Responsibilities:With guidance from the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, lead the Manufacturing Engineers and Technicians assigned to designated facilityThe Ideal CandidateQualifications:Bachelors degree (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience; MBA preferredFive - seven years related experience in a manufacturing environmentExperience in tool design and modificationsExpert knowledge in blueprintsHands-on, team oriented and committed to business improvement processesProcess-oriented mentalityStrong problem-solving capabilitiesStrong knowledge in writing product specificationsStrong project management skillsAbility to perform risk assessment for products, processes, and suppliersLean system and Six Sigma experience preferredComputer literacy: Basic skills with MS Word and Excel; Strong CAD proficiency, MinitabPrevious Supervisory Experience is preferred
