Position: Vice President, Chief of Staff to Co-Founder and Investment Committee MemberLocation: New York, NY (note this role is in-office Monday - Thursday and remote on Fridays) Reports To: Co-Founder Investment Committee MemberOur client is a New York-based, private credit fund manager that provides collateralized loans to small and medium-sized, non-sponsored businesses. They originate collateralized loans of $10 million to $50 million and offer an equity alternative for management teams with high conviction, which allows them to avoid equity dilution and the long equity raise process. The firm has a highly experienced team of 35+ professionals with deep investment and operating expertise. Over their 16-year history, they have completed 160+ transactions, deploying more than $2.5 billion in capital to companies across a variety of sectors.Position Overview:Our client is hiring a Chief of Staff to our Co-Founder and Investment Committee Member to support him across all his investment, risk management, and business activities so that his impact on the organization is optimized. The role includes a mix of high-level strategic work and tactical execution. The Chief of Staff will research, scope, and manage projects on his behalf, collect, synthesize, and deliver information to him, and otherwise support his daily activities, particularly related to portfolio and credit-level risk management, Investment Committee matters, and oversight of individual credits in the portfolio. This is a new role for the firm that offers an opportunity to partner with an industry leader to have immediate and significant impact.Requirements: They are seeking an exceptional individual with a financial services background who is excited about the nexus of helping to oversee a portfolio of investments and operationalizing business processes within the context of a growing private asset management firm. The successful Chief of Staff candidate will have the ability to understand individual portfolio credits and their associated risks while also leading portfolio-wide and firmwide projects from the ideation phase all the way through to successful delivery and assessment of the results. They will be comfortable applying a first principles approach to a variety of situations and subject-matters. This team player will be a skilled communicator, able to synthesize complex topics for a variety of audiences, and deliver key messages in a clear and compelling way. While being detail oriented, they will be able to maintain eyes on the larger picture and an appreciation for the balance of stakeholder interests. They must be comfortable both holding people accountable and providing support and advocacy to help them achieve their goals. They will have the presence and polish to represent the firm to the outside world on behalf of the Co-Founder and Investment Committee Member, be personable enough to nurture and develop key relationships across the firm, and have a high tolerance for ambiguity. Must be willing to get into the trenches and help solve problems from Day 1.Key Responsibilities:Manage and execute on special projects, end-to-end, related to risk management, portfolio construction, firmwide growth initiatives, portfolio dataanalytics, and business management.Develop a deep understanding of the portfolio and each credit to provide leverage and pre-screening to the Investment Committee.Handle Investment Committee processes and build a feedback loop between Investment Committee members and Deal TeamAsset Management.Manage administrative aspects of the quarterly Valuations Committee to ensure timely, accurate valuations for all portfolio companies.Collaborate with Operations and DataReporting teams to build out necessary portfolio construction and risk management functionalities, reporting, and dashboards.Assist with Investor RelationsMarketing requests, particularly as it relates to educating prospective investors about the firm's investment process, risk management, and individual portfolio companies.Work cross-functionally and together with other Vice Presidents at the firm to streamline firm operations and ensure robust inter-departmental communication.Qualifications5+ years relevant experience; investment banking or management consulting background preferredStrong financial modeling skillsExhibits strong commercial judgment; understands the consequences of decisions on the firm's goals and risksTakes a systematic approach to problem solvingConceptual and analytical thinkerHigh tolerance for ambiguity and complexityStrong organizational and project management skillsExcellent attention to detailBachelor's degree required, MBA a plus but not necessaryStrong Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint skills; data visualization skills in Tableau, PowerBI, etc. a plusWhat they Offer:$180,000 base salary + additional bonusFull medical, vision, and dental insurance with premiums 100% covered20 vacation days + unlimited sick days401K program and match
