HVAC Service Technician

Job purpose The position of the HVAC Service Technician, within our new company Real Airflow, serves to make service calls to homes or commercial businesses to provide them with expert troubleshooting, repair solutions, and new installations to a variety of equipment, particularly heating systems. As you will be the main point of contact between Real AirFlow and its customers, the HVAC Service Technician will maintain a professional and friendly image and serve as an advocate for the company and our brand. QualificationsHigh School Diploma or EquivalentHVAC certification, requiredPrior experience servicing residential and commercial Air Conditioning and Heating equipmentValid driver's license and clean driving recordMust be able to pass drug and background test(s) as required by companyWillingness to expand your technical and repair knowledge; obtain new licenses and commitment to professional growthExceptional technical skills as well as strong communication skillsMust be able to work independently while safely maintaining a high level of performanceRoles and ResponsibilitiesResidential:Assessing customers' equipment and service needsTroubleshooting and repairing residential AC equipment, heating, and other equipmentIdentifying revenue-generating opportunities, making recommendations to customers, and closing any sales that can be immediately performedPerforming efficiency tests on all combustion-related installationsPreparing accurate daily paperworkObtain the customer's signature at the completion of the jobObtain correct customer information including email addressDocument all equipment upon arrival: make model, serial number, type of fuel, necessary test measurements, and pictures as necessaryCommunicating with Dispatcher and Service departmentsUtilizing all applicable safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE)Maintaining an organized van and properly accounting for assigned tools and parts inventoryCommercial Businesses: Install, alter and repair sheet metal products and equipment ducts and hoods for HVAC systems utilizing blueprints, drawings and work ordersMaintain and repair or replace components on various air conditioner units' chillers, rooftop units, wet and dry side systemsWill be working along other HVAC InstallersGeneral: Represent Real AirFlow while always providing the highest quality of service to the customerAttend all department and manager meetings as needed Develops relationships within the community to strengthen and expand customer opportunities Participate in company-provided training opportunities (occasional travel) on the latest industry technologiesIdentify and report to the owner potential opportunities for additional business (newer system, service contracts, and additional services)Observe all company procedures and safety rulesPhysical RequirementsJob may require moderate lifting (up to 50lbs) and bending, and standing for long periods of time Be able to push, pull, carry, or maneuver heavier items (with additional manpower or appropriate devices); carry ladders; work from heights, work in small crawl spacesWell-groomed and neat appearanceSchedule Monday to Friday with the ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays for emergency service calls. Should expect 50+ hours a week during peak heating and cooling seasonsWork location is on the road
