Brookfield is committed to the development of our people through interesting work assignments and exposure to a diverse set of businesses.Position Summary:Brookfield is is seeking an analyst or associate to join our New York-based investment team as a portfolio manager focused on third-party client accounts including insurance and other institutional investors. Responsibilities will include working with sector origination teams to ensure that investment opportunities sourced through Brookfield's global credit platform are appropriately and consistently applied to client portfolios in line with portfolio guidelines and risk budgets. The candidate will contribute to the portfolio management process by providing assistance throughout the life cycle of an investment and its implementation in client portfolios. The role will be based in Brookfield's New York offices at Brookfield Place.The ideal candidate will be a team player that demonstrates exceptional communication skills, strong work ethic, an entrepreneurial attitude and a strong desire to learn and grow. The candidate will be expected to work on multiple transactions simultaneously and is expected to know how to manage a workload. There will frequently be things that are new to the team, so there will be an element of learning and discovery that requires strong analytical skills. This role provides a highly motivated individual with a solid foundation and exposure to a progressive and dynamic career within Brookfield Credit.Responsibilities:Assist in formulating and implementing customized asset allocation strategies for insurance and other institutional investors.Monitor investment pipelines and utilize asset allocation, portfolio construction and risk management skills to assist with allocation and execution of investments.Develop and present reports on investment pipeline, deployment, performance and risk, including monitoring ongoing compliance with investment guidelines.Work closely with the group's Finance & Operations teams to ensure smooth client onboarding process and account activation for new mandates.Contribute to ongoing client experience and new business development efforts by participating in portfolio reviews and client pitches.Collaborate with technology services for integration and process enhancement, while actively participating in system implementation projects for ongoing process improvementsRespond to inquiries and requests from clients or other departments or escalate to manager on a timely basisMonitor changes to existing portfolios and apply the changes to all back-office systems.Design ad-hoc reports for special requests from clients or internal requests.Make sure all the procedures are documented and maintained.Contributing to a dynamic, team-oriented working cultureSupporting ad-hoc requests and analysis as needed, and other special duties and projects as assignedQualifications & Requirements:Demonstrated track record of excellence in academic, professional, and personal contextsBachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or other relevant fields is required.At least 2-5 years of portfolio management or multi-sector portfolio strategy experience; prior experience with insurance clients and private credit investments a plusAdvanced knowledge of MS Excel, familiarity with Bloomberg, BlackRock Aladdin, programming languages a plusStrong analytical and conceptual thinker who works well in a fast-paced, dynamic, complex and unstructured environmentThorough and meticulous with extreme focus on details.Self-motivated and proactive with the ability to operate independently.Team-oriented with a commitment to shared success.Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop collaborative relationships at all levels.Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities to meet internal and external deadlines.High degree of professional ethics and integrity.Brookfield is committed to maintaining a Positive Work Environment that is safe and respectful; our shared success depends on it. Cash compensation tends to vary based on geography to account for local market conditions and is set to be market competitive.
