Job Description What you will be doing: The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a strategic leadership role responsible for managing the financial operations of the company within the Real Estate firm in the architecture, engineering, and consulting (AEC) industry. Oversee daily banking activities, including monitoring online banking for recent transactions, approving positive pays, managing cash flow, and coordinating with the CEO on bank activity. Review accounting-related emails, ensuring prompt resolution of issues. Bi-weekly, review payroll processes, ensuring accuracy in payroll journals, resolving tax filing issues, and addressing employee inquiries. Monthly, prepare bank reconciliations, manage international payroll, and generate financial reports, analyzing earned revenues, billings, and project unbilled balances. Post various financial entries, prepare income statements, and update financial dashboards. Quarterly, conduct financial review meetings with managers, analyzing actual results, forecasts, and backlog data. Manage quarterly tax filings, including commercial rent, sales and use, corporate, business, and foreign VAT taxes. Annually, update compensation files, coordinate audits, prepare tax returns, and administer the 401(k) plan, ensuring compliance and managing related audits. Lead weekly financial discussions with the CEO, manage accounts receivable collections, approve purchase orders, and review vendor agreements. Serve as the system administrator for the accounting software, overseeing system upgrades and resolving technical issues. Manage special financial projects as needed. Oversee a small team of accounting professionals responsible for day-to-day invoicing, collections, preparation of billing reports, accounts payable, etc. Experience you will need: The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, with a CPA or MBA preferred. At least 10 years of experience in finance, including 5 years in a senior financial leadership role, preferably within the AEC industry (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction). Strong knowledge of financial regulations, tax laws, and accounting standards relevant to the industry. Excellent analytical, strategic planning, and communication skills. Proficiency in accounting systems, particularly Deltek Vantagepoint, Paylocity, or similar platforms, is preferred. Our client asked me to submit 3 great people within the next few days.
