The Knowledge Management Attorney (KMA) for Finance will play a critical role in supporting the firm's Finance practice by developing, implementing and maintaining practice group knowledge management resources, document drafting, legal education, thought leadership, marketing, and innovation projects. This role requires strong expertise in both general Finance and Leveraged Finance transactions at a large law firm, excellent drafting and organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively. The KMA will use their legal background and expertise to advance these goals and projects.Key Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions: Collaborate with the Finance practice group leadership to assess KM needs, define and implement a strategy to address them, and establish mechanisms for regular review of the strategy and its execution. Draft, revise, and manage model documents, internal and client-facing memoranda, alerts on legal issues relevant to Finance, process checklists, and other necessary knowledge assets in coordination with practice area lawyers. Aggregate, curate, and contribute content to internal knowledge repositories and resources for Finance, including articles, presentations, client alerts, positioning the Firm as a thought leader in Finance transactions and legal innovation. Collaborate closely with lawyers in the Finance practice group to gather and maintain deal experience data utilizing the firm's experience platform and deal intelligence tools. Advocate for and facilitate adoption of knowledge management resources and tools within the Finance practice area, and ensuring content within the system remains current. Stay abreast of recent legal developments and market trends in Finance and share pertinent information with the practice group. Spearhead legal knowledge projects, technologies, and systems tailored to the Finance practice area. Identify training needs specific to Finance and collaborate with attorneys, talent, and business development to organize, design, and deliver pertinent training sessions. Foster collaboration with peers in other practice areas to exchange best practices in knowledge management. Cultivate relationships with industry peers, legal tech providers, and other stakeholders pertinent to Finance. Attend conferences, seminars, and events to remain updated on industry trends and foster knowledge sharing. Willingness to work beyond regular hours and travel, as necessary. Serve as a source of legal expertise, particularly in Finance, and contribute to fostering a culture of legal innovation within the firm. Special project and duties as assigned. Required Skills: Advanced proficiency in researching and drafting legal documents pertinent to a sophisticated finance transactions practice, and good working knowledge of emerging market trends and recent case law impacting lenders in the private credit or broadly syndicated loan markets. Familiarity with knowledge management and legal innovation practices (preferred). Advanced proficiency in the English language, including strong writing, grammar, punctuation, and spelling skills. Strong training skills and familiarity with best practices. Proficiency in utilizing legal research techniques, online research tools, and legal research databases. Required Qualifications & Education: Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school. At least 5 years of experience practicing law in the Leveraged Finance andor Private Credit group at a large law firm. Physical Requirements: Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Moderate or advanced keyboard usage. This position may be filled in Illinois, District of Columbia, or New York. The base salary ranges for this position are listed below. These ranges may not be applicable to other locations. An individual's actual compensation will depend on the individual's qualifications and experience.
