Berg Construction is a locally owned and operated excavation company. We are currently growing and are looking to hire a MechanicService Technician to join our Team. The Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing issues on automotive, heavy trucks and a variety of construction equipment.Duties and Responsibilities:Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems of heavy duty trucks, vehicles, and other construction equipmentPerform preventative maintenance tasks such as, oil changes, tune ups etc.Diagnose, repair, adjust, and modify components as neededPositive interface with service department, supervisors, and clientsMaintain functional condition by listening to operator complaints, repairing mechanical and electrical systems malfunctionsAt times provide off-site repair assistance with our Road MechanicPrepare proper documentation of actions takenMaintain conformity to safety requirements and other regulationsPositive interface with service, department, peers and clientsOther duties, as assignedQualifications:At least 3 years' experience with automotive and heavy truck repairs and heavy construction equipmentAbility to effectively diagnose and troubleshoot complex equipment problemsStrong initiative required; ability to work independently with minimal direct supervisionHave a clear understanding of the necessity of equipment safetyMust have basic set of mechanic's hand toolsMust be able to work on several types and brands of equipmentValid Driver's License, CDL preferred but not requiredMust be able to pass drug test and background checkA good attitudeBenefits:Competitive PayMedical InsurancePaid Vacation and HolidaysPaid Parental Leave401(k) plan with Company MatchOpportunities to Attend Educational Programs to Learn and Promote GrowthThe description shall not, however, be construed as a complete listing of all miscellaneous, incidental, or similar duties which may be required from day to day.
