Axsome is based in New York City.About This Role Axsome Therapeutics is seeking a Financial Analyst who will be responsible for supporting the commercial finance function. The role will manage the accounts receivable process and reconcile customer sales deductions, customer return transactions, gross to net process execution, and inventory management and valuation. The Financial Analyst will foster a positive working relationship and be highly collaborative with the broader Finance team to provide informative and actionable analytics. The Financial Analyst, will work closely with our product distribution customers and logistics provider, our returns processing vendor, and our internal Trade and Distribution team to ensure full visibility to needed information and implementation of any required corrective actions including collections efforts, analytics, and monitoring. This role reports directly to the Director, Finance.This role is based at Axsome's HQ in New York City with an on-site requirement of at least three days per week. Job Responsibilities and Duties include, but are not limited to, the followingEnsure complete and accurate accounts receivable (AR), deduction validation, and return reconciliation functions via high level analytics and other related activitiesMonitor and maintain system of record for all accounts receivable transactions including cash collections, distributor deductions, credits, etc.Research and resolve customer deductions; coordinate with business partners to resolve contested items, recommend appropriate action for item handling. Either issue credit or contact customer to collect unauthorized deductionsPrepare, verify and complete data entry of pricing, promotional, return and or other credit memo documentsResponsible for ensuring the Accounts Receivable and cash collections processes operate in a well controlled environment in accordance with Sarbanes Oxley standards including the implementation and execution of internal controlsExecute and perform all Accounts Receivable activities downstream of basic cash application and communicate problemsopportunities in a timely mannerFollow up on overdue items and educate leadership on any trends impacting the sales collection processClose communication with external partners and customers to fill in gaps in data and affect outcome on any corrective actions neededCollaborate with internal stakeholders within Market Access and TradeDistributionPrepare reports and dashboards to educate Axsome leadership on trade and distribution finance related topicsGross to net calculations and analyticsGross to net administration of third party claims including validation support, and accuracy of the general ledgerResponsibility for the execution of select Gross to net internal controlsSupport the inventory process through close collaboration with Supply ChainRequirements QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Business AdministrationAt least 1 year of experience in a Finance or Accounting roleIntermediate or advanced excel skills requiredAbility to work on-site Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.
