Sr. Tax Accountant

Our client is a Certified Public Accountant based in Long Island. Their expertise ranges from accounting and auditing to tax estate planning. Due to growth, they seek a tax professional to join their team as they gear up for the 2025 tax season. The position is fulltime in the office when not visiting a client.MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES, REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:3 to 5+ years of public accounting experience leading multiple engagementsCPA preferredrequired with diversified tax backgroundWorking knowledge of CCH Axcess Tax, Engagement and QuickBooksTeam player with leadership and staff development skillsEffective communicator with problem solving and analytical abilitiesStrong organizational and time management skillsTax preparation responsibility for the more complex tax returns, as needed1040's, 1041's, 1120's, 1065'sUnderstanding of Estate and TrustsFinancial planning for high-net-worth individuals (estates, gifting, & IRA) Responsible for helping prepare and review financial information for clients, such as business and individual tax returns, with the benefit of gaining exposure to a diverse client base operating in a variety of industriesMaintain client relationships and act as a liaison between overseeing the work of internal staff and working closely with internal leaders, to ensure high-quality work is conducted and delivered to our clientsPrepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns, extensions and quarterly projections for individual clients, Trusts, and gift tax returnsPreparation and review of individual tax compliance forms and working with a dedicated individual tax teamReview federal and state tax returns and work of staff and interns and provide feedback, training, and mentoringReview tax information supplied by clients and obtain open itemsDevelop tax planning opportunities arising from inbound and outbound cross-border transactions and activitiesAssist with the coordination of planning, tax work and wrap upSalary is between 110K - 135K plus bonus and solid benefits
