Sidwell Friends School, a coeducational Quaker day school with campuses in NW Washington, DC and Bethesda, MD is seeking robotics team assistant coaches supporting grades 9-12. This position provides support and supervision of students during weekend robotics team meetings and competitions.Successful candidates will possess at least a high school diploma and prior experience working with children; bachelor's level course work is a plus. Additional qualifications include strong technology skills, organization and communication skills, flexibility, patience, sense of humor, and a demonstrated love for working with students. Robotics andor Engineering experience is a plus but not a requirement. Our Robotics team participates in the FIRST FTC and MATE ROV competitions.This is an hourly position (4-8 hours per week) and the candidate must be able to work Sundays 12-4pm andor Fridays 4-8pm and would be expected to chaperone the weekend competitions at the end of each season. The position is available immediately. Candidates will need to be able to successfully complete all background checking requirements at the time of hireas well as adherence to all health and safety protocols associated with working on campus. Current CPRAED certification is required; however, if you are not CPRAED certified you will have the opportunity to complete the course upon pensation Hourly Rate $18.00-$23.00 per hour.
