We are currently seeking an Environmental Engineer to act as Assistant Project Manager within a growing environmental consulting practice in our NYC office. The successful candidate will lead project and field work, including Phase I and II Environmental Site AssessmentsInvestigations and preparation of Remedial Action Workplans in the NYC metropolitan area. The ideal candidate for this position is an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual who is ready to take on project management and staff training. Strong interpersonal and writing skills are critical.Salary range starts at $90,000yearWhat you'll doParticipate in all aspects of site investigation and remediation, from the proposal stage, through preparation of workplans, conducting field work, and writing summary reports, to final remedial documentsThe candidate will work with junior staff to complete site investigations to determine the nature and extent of contaminated soil, soil vapor, sediment, groundwater and other media on a variety of sites, including public (parks, schoolsuniversities, transit-related), residential, industrial. commercial, and private. Field work will include oversight of subcontractors, including drillers and other laborers, during soil boring advancement, monitoring well installation, excavation activities, and remedial construction activities; and sampling various media including soil, groundwater, sediment, soil vapor and airPerform Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessments in accordance with ASTM E1527, supervise junior staff, and perform peer reviews of same. Prepare summary reports including reviewing laboratory analytical data; interpreting and tabulating data and preparing tables; soil boring logs; figures; and textMinimum RequirementsBS in Environmental Engineering, or related engineering degree6+ years of environmental consulting experienceExperience performing Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessments and Phase II Environmental Site Investigations, including soil, sediment, soil vapor, air and groundwater samplingWorking knowledge of NYSDEC Rules, Regulations and Guidance documents including DER-10, Part 360, and Part 375 RegulationsKnowledge of the principles and standards of scientific study, field investigation and sampling, and research and documentationOSHA 40-Hour Training and 8-hour refreshersMust possess a valid driver's license, with a clean driving record, and be willing to travel and conduct field work in all boroughs of NYC, Westchester, and Long IslandExperience working effectively with team members as well as independentlyStrong quantitativemath and analytical skillsCore competency in Microsoft Office Products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and OutlookExcellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong attention to detailMust be able to wear a respiratorMust pass a pre-employment drug test and will be subject to DOT regulated random drug testingPreferred RequirementsProfessional engineering license preferredWorking knowledge of the environmental investigation implications with the CEQR process Chapter 12) preferredOSHA 30-Hour construction training preferred>All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability or protected veteran status.
