This unique opportunity for pediatrics will provide comprehensive behavioral health for the common conditions seen in pediatrics such as depression, anxiety, ADHD and conduct disorders in an extended virtual model.DescriptionThis position is HYBRID - 1 evening per week in person and the remainder is remote.**To qualify for the sign on bonus, the following are required: Must hold current Medicaid FFS enrollment Must have post licensure experience providing medication management services with a pediatric population and hold the PMHNP-BC - active in NY. Work as part of the virtual behavioral health team, providing patient services using evidence based medicineDiagnose and assess mentalbehavioral health disorders for pediatric, adolescent and young adult patients; formulate differential diagnosesDemonstrate appropriate clinical judgement in assessment and treatment, following established clinical care guidelinesCollaborate and communicate with therapist team and medical leadership to discuss patient treatment plansOrder and interpret diagnostic tests when appropriateConduct patient history and initial evaluations of incoming patientsPrescribe medications as part of the patient's treatment regime as allowed by licenseProvide both medication management and counseling for patientsEducate patient and parent on medication side effects, riskbenefits and proper usage of new medication and reasonable outcome expectations of medicationsEstablish and modify patient treatment plan based on clinical assessment and re-assessment with screening toolsAppropriately document each patient visit in the electronic medical record, including subjective and objective data, assessments, treatment plan, and other documentation as necessaryCommunicate patient's plan of care with behavioral health team and patient's primary care physicianWork with members of the healthcare team in educating the patients of their medical careContinually update clinical knowledge and skills through consultation, formal and informal education and review of literature for the benefit of themselves as well as for the healthcare teamProvide appropriate referrals when necessaryQualificationsSuccessful completion of advanced practitioner training and certification from an approved nurse practitioner programMinimum three years of professional nursing experience in a clinical setting plus two years of nurse practitioner experienceLicensed as an advanced registered nurse practitioner with prescriptive authority in the state practicingStrong organizational and time management skillsStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to screen for danger to self or othersDemonstrated adherence to acceptable ethical and behavioral standards of conductAbility to collaborate with strong skills working with a teamExperience working specifically with children and adolescentsPrior experience with use of electronic health recordsMasters of Arts in PsychiatricMental HealthNursingAdvanced Practice Nurse (APN)Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)Valid DEA LicenseValid CDS LicenseCompensation: Compensation Dependent Upon Location and ExperienceThe salaryrate range listed here has been provided to comply with local regulations and represents a potential base salaryrate for this role.
