Job DescriptionSenior Reinsurance Credit AnalystThe Senior Reinsurance Credit Analyst will support the assessment and management of reinsurance counterparty risk by analyzing the financial strength of reinsurers, preparing reports, and assisting in the presentation of findings to senior management. This role involves collaboration with the AVP and other team members to ensure the effective management of reinsurance credits and compliance with corporate guidelines.Key Responsibilities: Financial Analysis: Assist in evaluating the financial strength of current and prospective reinsurers by analyzing financial statements, profitability, capitalization, and liquidity metrics. Exception Reviews: Participate in the review process of exceptions to the approved list of reinsurers. This includes gathering necessary information, analyzing financial conditions, & making appropriate recommendations on usage. Meeting Support: Contribute to the preparation of materials for meetings of the Reinsurance Security Committee (RSC), including running financial models, creating presentations, and preparing meeting minutes. Database Management: Maintain the Master Reinsurer Database, ensuring timely and accurate updates of reinsurer ratings, surplus sizes, and usage decisions, and communicate updates to stakeholders. Reporting: Assist in the development of regular reports and analyses to support decision-making and ensure compliance with established guidelines. Ad-hoc Projects: Engage in special projects as assigned that support the broader goals of the department.Qualifications Ability to assess and interpret financial data and articulate findings clearly. Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, and multi-tasking skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team and interact professionally with various stakeholders. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with a focus on automating models and enhancing analytical capabilities.Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in financial statement preparation, financial analysis, andor rating agency experience preferred.
