Smith Life Communities!OUR UNIT SECRETARY POSITIONThe primary purpose of the Unit Secretary position is to assist the Nurse ManagerCharge Nurse in their day-to-day recording and charting of medical or administrative information in accordance with current regulations that govern medical records to ensure that our medical records are maintained in an informative and descriptive manner. Our team of over 1,000 members represent a very wide range of cultural backgrounds, ethnicities, and faiths.EMPLOYEE BENEFITSAs a Unit Secretary you will enjoy our competitive total rewards package: (Benefits may vary based off employment status)$750 referral bonus for any RN, LPN or GNA you refer who gets hiredUnit Secretary hourly rate: $19.00Health benefits start on the first day following your first month of employmentDental and Vision petitive PTO Plan (starts at 21 days per year)403(b) PlanEmployer paid AD&D Insurance401(a) Pension Plan with employer matchTuition ReimbursementFREE PARKINGProximity to public transportationEmployee Assistance Program services provided for to you and your family.Posted: 12172024 LOCATIONThis position is based at Hebrew Home of Greater Washington, our skilled nursing residence, located at 6121 Montrose Road in Rockville, Maryland.SHIFTS & STATUSThis is a FULL-TIME position on the DAYLIGHT shift, 7AM to 3PM, Monday thru Friday.MAIN RESPONSIBILITIESRecord medical and administrative information.Maintain the Daily Census Report and submit to Nurse ManagerSupervisor.Maintain an up-to-date roster of residents for your assigned unit.Answer telephone, page calls, deliver messages to residents, etc. as necessary.Record appropriate resident identification data on designated medical records, wristbands, ID cards, etc. as required.Transcribe physicians' orders to medication cards, treatment plans.Prepare charts for weekly rounds.Record vital signs and weights on the Interdisciplinary Progress Notes.Forward new diet orders changes to Food Services.Arrange resident appointments and keep nursing service staff informed.Schedule and requisition lab work and x-rays.Prepare forms for daily assignment sheets, shower schedules and other unit plete necessary medical and administrative records upon the resident's admission, transfer andor discharge.Maintain adequate quantities of forms, materials, supplies and form nursing service staff of new admissions and prepare chart.Assist Medical Records Assistant in duties of processing, maintaining, storing and retrieving of medical records.Handle release of medical record requests as per facility policy.Identify areas of growth for the unit regarding record keeping to the Nurse Manager.EDUCATION & TRAININGMust possess a high school diploma. Certificate of study in medical terminology or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
