MORTGAGE SALES ORIGINATOR

The Mortgage Sales Originator (MSO) will be part of our external networking team. This team will focus on prospecting, refinance transactions and purchase money mortgages. This position will work directly with Realtors, builders and home improvement businesses to build long term relationships for future business. This position will participate in and seek referrals from the Board of Realtors and professional organizations in the community. Additionally, the MSO will be actively engaged with their assigned branches to build membership and identify cross sell opportunities in consumer loan products and deposit accounts. The Mortgage Sales Originator will work with members and non-members to determine appropriate mortgage products to meet their needs. Engage members and Realtors to assure a stress-free experience while providing a friendly and responsive application to closing experience that exceeds expectationsEssential Duties:Complete the following tasks and activities as directed and in accordance with established policies, procedures and processes:Develop referral contacts (realtors, builders, professional and personal contacts). Be comfortable with cold calling.Maintain knowledge of available loan products, processing procedures, underwriting and general department terviews loan applicants, complete loan application and assist members with the entire loan application process.Recommend and sell loan types and credit options by analyzing applicants' financial status and credit.Collect appropriate documentation from each applicant and deliver loan package in the time frames set by management.Manage pipeline for all originated loans through closing and complete required management municate with branches, realtors, and applicants to provide timely updates and progress reports.Assists Mortgage staff when needed by working with borrowers and obtaining required documentation andor scheduling closing.Discusses rate lock options with borrowers.Stays current on CUO portfolio criteria.Stays current on loan origination system and other software needed to complete the loan origination process.Position may require working nights and weekends.Remains educated on all regulatory and internal credit union requirements in relation to originating mortgage loans.Participate in meetings.Is active in local community groups as a means of creating positive image of Credit Union ONE and exposing potential members to our mortgage loan programs.Plans and holds mortgage related special events at branches.Product Knowledge - Maintains the highest level of credit union product and service knowledge including all benefits and features.Fully engaged and strong awareness of any product promotions or other special offers or other communication.Minimum Requirements:These specifications are general guidelines based on the minimum experience normally considered essential to the satisfactory performance of this position. Individual abilities may result in some deviation from these guidelines.Education and Experience:Bachelor Degree is preferable with emphasis business administration or finance.Minimum of two years of work - related experience. Work related experience should consist of a background in mortgage lending and sales.
