We are actively recruiting for our Expanded-Role Registered Nurse position at our Specialty Care Clinic in Athens, Georgia. The Specialty Care Clinic is the primary provider of HIV Ryan White services for patients across the Northeast Health District's 10 counties: Barrow, Clarke, Elbert, Greene, Jackson, Madison, Morgan, Oconee, Oglethorpe, and Walton. If you have a passion for public health and desire to help end the HIV epidemic, we want to hear from you!Job Summary Duties:Expanded-role nurses are Registered Professional Nurses employed by Georgia Department of Public Health who have completed specialized training and meet all statutory and regulatory requirements. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Order, administer andor dispense medications, including HIV medications and oral contraceptionOrder and administer immunizationsPerform cervical cancer screenings, breast, and pelvic examsEvaluation and treatment of sexually transmitted infectionsInsertion and removal of contraceptive implantsIdentify infections through microscopic exams (wet mounts)Screen and refer patients to community resourcesCollaborate with patients on health promotion and education activitiesThe ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience working with culturally diverse andor vulnerable populations, including sexual minorities and persons who have mental health or substance misuse disorders. We offer rigorous training and mentoring to help you become a successful Expanded Role Nurse. Also, training is continuous and based on best practices from evidence-based HIV guidelines. To be successful in the Expanded-Role Nurse position, the ideal candidate will have: Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university AND One year of nursing experience AND current Georgia license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse AND CPR certification OR Associate's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university AND Two years of nursing experience AND completion of a PHN course within one year of hire AND current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license AND CPR certification. Additional Information Preferred Qualifications:Bachelors degree in nursing from an accredited college or university and one (1) years of nursing experience and completion of a PHN course within one year of hire and current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse License and CPR certification. Annual salary $70,158.
