Your OpportunityStantec's New England Transportation group has an immediate need for a talented, team focused Senior Transportation Engineer with 8 years of experience in roadwayhighway design. The location for this opportunity is flexible between our Auburn NH, Quincy MA, Boston MA, or Burlington MA offices and hybrid work. We are looking for a civil engineer that is experienced and knowledgeable in roadway design throughout the design process. You will join a growing team of transportation professionals and play a lead role in highway design for large and small roadway and bridge projects throughout Massachusetts. The position has the potential to lead to project management.Your Key ResponsibilitiesDesign roadways in accordance with AASHTO and MassDOT specifications and CAD Standards using AutoCAD Civil 3DDevelop and oversee design plans and calculations, technical specifications, and construction cost estimatesPrepare engineering reports and technical studies such as design memos and Design Justification WorkbooksCollaborate with team members, other disciplines and offices, and sub-consultantsPerform field investigations and construction phase services supportInteract with and present project designs to clients, agencies, and the publicThorough understanding of project tasks within the overall project schedule, budgeting, and available resourcesMentor and coach junior engineers on transportation design and AutoCAD Civil 3D Your Capabilities and CredentialsAbility to lead or assist leading a team through all phases of project document production Ability to be a great collaborator, effective communicator, and time managerAbility to offer a Comprehensive approach to challenges and problem-solvingExperience with Microsoft Project a plusEducation and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Civil EngineeringLicensed Professional Engineer (PE) in MassachusettsMinimum of 8 years relevant experience in engineering design with project management experience a plus.Position will primarily work in an office or virtual setting; may require some field work.
