YOUR NEXT OPPORTUNITY:The Field Safety Specialist exhibits advances competencies and is responsible for administering the job site safety program to maintain a safe and healthy work environment. This role will report to a Safety Manager or Senior Safety Manager and will need advanced safety competency knowledge to support technical safety programs and procedures for project requirements. WHAT YOU'LL DO:Lead regular walk-through inspections of construction areas (Upwards of 80% of the Job is spent in the field doing audits and interacting with the crews). Daily communication with project management and field leadership is essential.Anticipate, identify, document, and recommend a resolution of hazardouspotentially hazardous conditions; follow through to ensure corrections have been made.Direct injury investigation and incident events.Contribute to job pre-task planning and job site safety meetings.Review the three-week look ahead with field leadership to identify training opportunities and high-risk work.Ensure procedures are followed for LOTO and first-time energization at the project site.Review Step by Step and MOPS (Method of Procedures).Understand project one-line diagrams.Understand NFPA 70E guidelines (Approach Distances, PPE requirements, and Battery Systems).Compile and assess safety data, photographs, etc.; prepare pertinent forms and reports per program procedures and federal, state, and local regulations associated with accidentsIssue various entry permits (i.e., to confined spaces) as requiredAssist in emergency rescues as required. Maintain fire protection equipment and systems.Conduct awareness-level training and new hire orientationsThe duties and responsibilities describe this position's general nature and scope of work. WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.);Proficient in using electronic devices (i.e., phone, tablet, computer) for safety audit software and emails.Strong organizational, record-keeping, and follow-up skillsAbility to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, changing priorities as necessaryAbility to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitudeEffective oral and written communication skills as required for the positionAbility to be self-motivated, proactive, and an effective team playerAbility to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others WHAT YOU BRING TO US:Preferred Bachelor's DegreeOSHA 30 Construction CertificationPreferred STS-C or CHST CertificationCPR - First Aid Certification4+ years of safety construction experience. TRAVEL:Up to 100 % WORKING CONDITIONS:General work environment - sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioningNoise level is usually low to medium; it can be loud on the jobsite.We fully comply with the ADA and applicable state law, including considering reasonable accommodation measures that may enable qualified disabled applicants and employees to perform essential functions.Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
