This role reports to the Associate General Counsel, Corporate Initiatives & Transactions (CIT), and will be responsible for providing legal advice and support to enterprise-wide stakeholders on strategic transactions including reinsurance and mergersacquisitions, as well as provide leadership in the vendor contracting space. The CIT Team is a multidisciplinary legal practice group with a broad coverage area focused on providing enterprise-wide legal advice and support for matters involving (i) company mergersacquisitionsdispositions; (ii) strategic investments, capital market transactions, reinsurance and other strategic projects; (iii) corporate real estate and facilities; (iv) investment-related transactions; and (v) vendor contracting and outsourcing. You will: Provide legal counsel to senior-level internal business clients on complex, high stakes strategic transactions Lead multidisciplinary transaction teams to deliver excellent resultsProvide management and operational oversight to the vendor contracting teamAssist AGC in managing CIT practice areaEffectively manage outside counsel on strategic transactionsExpand your skill set to multiple areas of the transactional legal practiceKeep informed of relevant industry trends, changes and best practicesYou have: J.D. requiredNew York bar admission10+ years' progressively responsible transactional experience in a law firm or in-house legal departmentSignificant experience in the insurance industry or related mergers and acquisitions, as well as reinsurance transactionsKnowledge of the life insurance and annuity industry, and working knowledge of investment productsA high degree of integrity and sensitivity in handling confidential informationStrong analytical and organizational skills with close attention to detail and the ability to prioritize, be flexible and change direction as appropriateExcellent communication skills, both verbal and written; ability to interact with clients, including senior management and associatesThe ability to lead multidisciplinary teams on complex projectsInitiative, are a strong strategic thinker, and are resourceful and proactiveThe ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced work environment, produce superior work results and follow through on commitmentsLocation:The position will be located in one of the following office locations: New York, NY (Hudson Yards) andor Stamford, CTThe position will be 3 days in the office , 2 days WFHSalary Range:$174,760.00 - $287,102.50The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate.
