Location: This position is based in New York City and requires regular travel to various project sites in Connecticut.At Vessel, we are committed to addressing one of the world's most pressing challenges-the global housing crisis. We're seeking an experienced Director of Construction to lead and manage construction activities across multiple sites in the Northeast region. With over 10 projects scheduled for construction in Connecticut in 2025, this is a unique opportunity to contribute to a transformative approach to housing. The role involves coordinating multiple construction managers, establishing budgets, and maintaining project schedules to ensure successful project delivery.What You'll DoSupervise and coordinate the activities of multiple construction managers across various sites to ensure seamless project executionEstablish and oversee project budgets, ensuring financial efficiency while maintaining high standards of qualityDevelop, enforce, and monitor project schedules to ensure timely completion of construction activitiesEnsure that all projects meet Vessel Technologies' standards for design, safety, and environmental impactProvide regular progress updates to senior management and key stakeholders, highlighting achievements and addressing challengesEnsure that all construction activities adhere to local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standardsAnticipate potential risks and implement proactive measures to address them effectivelyWho You AreProven experience managing construction crews of at least five people, including hiring, training, and performance management. Must have experience making tough personnel decisions, including terminationsExtensive hands-on experience in construction, having worked their way up from roles like carpenter, foreman, or superintendent. Strong understanding of construction materials, methods, and industry best practicesRegulatory Knowledge & Compliance: Deep knowledge of building codes, regulations, and inspection processes.
