Printpack's manufacturing plant in Elgin, IL is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Slitter Operator for 2nd shift (3pm - 11pm, M-F).Additional $2.50hr shift differential for NIGHT Shift only between the hours of 7pm-7am. Any hours worked outside of 7pm-7am will not receive the premium.Operate Slitter in order to:Ensure safetyPerform to quality, waste, and production standards and goalsMeet or exceed the customers (both internal and external) expectationsMeet the highest of quality standardsCommunicate orally andor in writing to other departments for resolution of mechanical problems, reporting defective material, coordination of job preparations, changeovers and daily shift informationReport production accurately and timely through Prism to include waste, WIP, time codes, raw materials, etc.Ensure your own safety while operating the machine and that of those assisting with operationsManage the duties of an operator including but not limited to:Prepare master rolls for slittingPlace rolls in machine and prepare for splicingProperly segregate and label all materials (as appropriate) for work in process, rewinds, trash, and hold)Assist in removing rolls from rewind (as necessary)Remove and weigh startup rollsmaterials at beginning of jobPerform daily housekeeping duties to keep area clean and organized during setup, run and end of shiftRemove and weigh all wasteKeep trash waste separated from recycle materialsProperly store all unused equipmentMinimum Requirements:1 year of experience operating machineryequipment preferredAbility to accurately read a tape measureAbility to be self directed and multitaskAbility to follow directionsAbility to lead and manage the performance of othersTimelinessAbility to obtain forklift license and operate forkliftEqual Opportunity EmployerVeteransDisabledPrintpack is proudly an equal-opportunity employer.
