This position will support our operations in Hammond IN (Greater Chicago), Detroit MI, St. Louis MO, and Toledo OH. This position can be done predominately remote but may require occasional on-site work when needed. Preference is for candidates to live local to Chicago, Detroit, St. Louis, or Toledo. Responsibilities:Prepare design drawings to facilitate timely and cost-effective construction of structural systemsInterdisciplinary collaboration with project civilstructuralmechanicalelectrical engineers and designers throughout the design processReview structural drawings for errors and omissionsReview project contract documents throughout the project to ensure quality and accuracyAttend weekly project meetings to review design and project progressReview and update CAD Standards as needed to ensure accuracy and efficiencyMentor Junior Designers and provide first level oversightRequirements:10-15 years of structural design experience with structural steel and reinforced concreteExperience designing and drafting structural systems in a heavy industrial environmentKnowledge of industry standardsProficient with the latest version of AutoCAD and Revit SoftwareExperience with the latest version of AutoCAD Plant 3D is a PLUSExperience with the latest version of Navisworks is a PLUSExperience with Steel Detailing is a PLUSMust excel in working in a team environmentSelf-motivated with high attention to detailHigh school diploma or equivalent; Associates degree in design and drafting is a PLUSA commitment to excellence and hard work will be rewarded with a competitive salary, career advancement opportunities, and an excellent benefits package including medical, dental, vision, prescription drug, 401(k), and supplemental insurance.Orbital Engineering, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer, EEOAAM-F-V-D.
