Aircraft Line Support Engineer (ESC, AOG)

Aviation Technology Associates (AVTECH) is looking for an Aircraft Line Support Engineer (ESC, AOG) for the following locations starting in June 2024 and lasting thru August 2024.Charlotte, NC (CLT)Chicago, IL (ORD)Position Purpose:Liaison engineering supporting heavy maintenance base operations at aircraft MRO'sPrinciple Duties and Responsibilities:Essential Functions:Providing technical dispositions (via Engineering Authorizations) and guidance for aircraft issues that exceed published limits for structural damage including sheet metal and composite repairs. This often includes performing a structural analysis.Providing work deviation authorization, interpretation of service documents & Engineering Orders.Providing options for repairing versus replacing a part to minimize financial impact.Providing aircraft system trouble shooting assistance to Base Maintenance.Attending daily production meeting and pre-induction meeting to ensure timely supportProviding on-site engineering assistance for significantly damaged line aircraft as required.Coordinating eventsissues with Engineering Fleet Groups for additional action, troubleshooting and follow-up.Monitoring trends and recurring discrepancies requiring corrective action. Developing Typical Repairs and manual supplement to eliminate repetitive BA requests.As an ideal candidate to join the AVTECH team, you will meet the following:Education and Experience Requirements:BS Degree (or higher) in Aeronautical, Aerospace, Mechanical, or Structural EngineeringTwo plus (2+) years in specific technical disciplineRequired Unique Skills:Ability to perform structural analysis to substantiate repairsStrong written and verbal communication skillsStrong investigative, analytical, and problem solving skillsSelf-motivated, conscientious and ability to prioritize multiple tasksKnowledge of FARs, FAA policies, and vendor manual (AMM, IPC, CMM)Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule to meet internal customer's needsAircraftairlineMRO or aviation engineering experience desiredShift:Typical shift is Tuesday thru the following Monday10 hours a day (wadditional 5 hours of pay on either end to cover travel)7 on7 off rotation (no relocation requirement)Travel costs covered (i.e., flights, hotel, rental car, etc.)This is a W-2 hourly position starting in June 2024 and lasting thru August 2024.
