Description Position at MTA Construction & Development This position is eligible for telework, which is currently one day per week. New hires are eligible to apply 30 days after their effective date of hire. JOB TITLE:Engineering Manager (Level 2) AGENCY:Construction & DevelopmentDEPTDIV:DeliveryEPPREPORTS TO:Principal EngineerWORK LOCATION:2 BroadwayHOURS OF WORK:8:30 AM to 5:00 PM or as required (7.5HR DAY)HAY POINTS:775SALARY RANGE:$110,909 to $144,315DEADLINE:Open Until FilledSummaryEngineering Manager Level 2 will be involved in all MTA C&D project lifecycle phases, including planning, scheduling, analysis, design, technical specifications, and reports.ResponsibilitiesReviews and supervises various analyses that may impact MTA properties and structures.Performs technical and feasibility studies, including analyzing historical data, surveys, reports, and as-builts to create and review innovative engineering design projects.Reviews designs, tests, and assesses materials and performsreviews engineering calculations.Manages a small team of design engineers.Embraces mentoring from senior staff.Adheres to corporate quality control standards within the discipline.Coordinates with other in-house engineering disciplines as needed.Education and ExperienceBachelor of Science degree in the appropriate Engineering disciplines (Civil, Structural, Geotechnical). Must have a minimum of eight (8) years of related experience.Must have four (4) years in design review or management or supervisory role andor project manager role in a large, multi-faceted organization. Competencies:Registered NYS Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required and will sign and sealExperience performing site inspections, documenting site conditions and construction activities, coordinating with Agency Owner and contractor staff, and responding to contractor requests for information.Experience in NYCT systems preferred.Knowledge of applicable industry and NYS building and design codes and standards.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Must have focus and ability to deliver results, organizational effectiveness, and continuous improvement.Must possess excellent team-building, listening, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.Proficiency in current design and engineering software and Microsoft Office are required.Has experience in interpreting engineering reports and analysis.An attitude and commitment to being an active participant in our employee culture is a must.Able to multi-task and be flexibleadapt to rapidly changing project requirementstimelines.Knowledge of the capital design and construction process.Other InformationPursuant to the New York State Public Officers Law & the MTA Code of Ethics, all employees who hold a policymaking position must file an Annual Statement of Financial Disclosure (FDS) with the NYS Commission on Ethics and Lobbying in Government (the "Commission").Selection CriteriaBased on evaluation of education, skills, experience, and interview.How to ApplyMTA employees must apply via My MTA Portal.
