Description:Portion Helper prepares consumer-sized portions of meat for use or sale in retail establishments. Candidate should be able to work in temperatures ranging from 40 degrees or less. Conditions may be humid, wet, and slippery. The work requires that employees be able to maintain a high level of personal hygiene, cleanliness, and safety. Must follow GMP guidelines and USDA.Roles and Responsibilities:•FILLER: Cooked beef is being weighed in portions tubs and put in spinning table and then filling product container•Grasps sealed packages from a conveyor and placed onto a bins•Ensures that packaged product is moved from a conveyor andor holding bin and placed into holding area•Responsible for continual inspections and let the Lead know if any package are damage•Ability to properly prepare product for production according to specifications, including accurate product weighing•Responsible for preparing, adding and counting labels•Must be able to recognize proper coding and report deficiencies for corrections•Evaluate bag seals and report deficiencies for corrections•Effective clean-up and sanitation of equipment per Standard Operating Procedures•Ability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure environment and work well with others•Able to stand on feet for entire shift•Employees must follow the company policy on Food Safety, Sanitation and GMPRequirements:The qualifications and requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and or ability required to perform this job successfully:•High School diplomaGED desired or equivalent•Experience in Food Industry Environment•Available to work 8-10 hours shift•Bilingual EnglishSpanish is a plusAdditional Info:LANGUAGE ABILITY: Ability to comprehend basic verbal and written instructions. Ability to distinguish and identify different products by reading labels.MATH ABILITY: Ability to count to 60. Ability to do simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Ability to write numbers legibly.REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables unstandardized situations.WORK ENVIROMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is continuously required to stand or walk, and to reach with hands and arms. Manual dexterity and utilization of both hands and all fingers is required. The employee is frequently required to twist, bend. The employee must frequently lift and or move up to 50 pounds with the aid of a team member. The employee must occasionally pushpull manual or occasionally expected to pushpull equipment on wheels up 25 to 45 pounds
