Elmhurst Hospital Center (EHC) is the major tertiary care provider in the borough of Queens. The hospital is comprised of 545 beds and is a Level I Trauma Center, an Emergency Heart Care Station and a 911 Receiving Hospital. Every employee takes a person-centered approach that exemplifies the ICARE values (Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence) through empathic communication and partnerships between all persons.Job DescriptionNew York City Health and Hospitals Corporation (Queens, NY) seeks Associate Director (Hospitals) to develop, plan, direct, coordinate, monitor, and evaluate health care services provided in the medical emergency room setting, under the direction of the Director of Social Work Services. Operate follow-up programs and services. Monitor and coordinate the review processes of follow-up health services to determine if programs are meeting health care needs, objectives, and goals established by the Social Work Department.Duties & Responsibilities1. Participate in the development of policies, standards, rules, and regulations pertaining to follow-up health services.2. Provide advisory and consultative services to corporate, hospital, and facility staff in relation to those policies, standards, rules, and regulations.3. Maintain liaison with community agencies and professional organizations on matters affecting follow-up health programs.4. Review city, state, and federal regulations in connection with compliance.5. Review and advise pertinent personnel on improving healthcare follow-up programs for full compliance.6. Prepare special reports, studies, and budgetary estimates.7. Advise Director of Social Work Services on policy and procedural changes, community problems, utilization and development of staff, and implementation of productivity goals.8. Make recommendations for improvement in follow-up health services.9. Participate in staff meetings and conferences and attends meetings with key leadership officials and external representatives.10. Provide advisory and consultative services in connection with development of grant proposals.11. Implement administrative policies and procedures based on standards of professional review organizations.Minimum QualificationsMaster's degree in Public Administration, Public Health, or a closely-related healthcare specialization field.
