It operates approximately 800 school bus routes with a staff of approximately 1,800 people from six locations with a budget of $190 million. NYSCBUS's goal is to radically improve student bus transportation by innovating in all areas and by providing unprecedented transparency in bus operations to school districts that outsource this service.Grade C TechniciansPerform minor repairs such as fluids, light bulbs, batteries, tires and mirrorsAssist A and B Technicians with more involved projectsAdminister road testsStarting pay rate $20.81Grade B TechniciansPerforms all the duties of C Tech, plusAssist with the supervision of C TechniciansPerform DOT prep and inspectionsPerform intermediate repairs on engine cooling systems, heating & air conditioning, transmission and electrical systems, suspension and brake systems.Perform engine diagnostics such as check engine lights, fuel pump pressure, etc.Administer road testsStarting pay rate $23.11Grade A TechniciansPerforms all the duties of B & C Tech, plusAssist with the supervision of B & C TechniciansPerform DOT prep and inspectionsPerform major engine repairs including engine replacement, transmissions and differentials.Perform engine diagnostics such as check engine lights, fuel pump pressure, etc.Administer road testsStarting pay rate $26.58QualificationsHigh school diploma or bination of at least one (1) to two (2) years of apprentice level verifiable training and experience in automotive or diesel mechanics, which may include high school mechanics courses andor a regional occupational program.Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, DOT Physical and random drug testing.Must possess a valid New York drivers license.
