About RenRe Client Analytics RenRe Client Analytics (RRCA) is a team of 30+ risk professionals located across North America, Bermuda and Europe who are responsible for supporting exposure and loss analytics for treaty reinsurance and direct insurance for natural and man-made perils. Additionally, this team is responsible for client insights which complement other value add services for clients from RenRe Risk Sciences, RenRe Portfolio Analytics, and RenRe Business Development.About the PositionThe VP, Risk Analyst Manager is responsible for analysis, modeling and underwriting recommendations of assumed risks. This individual will be leading a team of Risk and Underwriting Analysts to support treaty reinsurance and direct insurance. The VP, Risk Analyst Manager is also responsible for system developments and acting as a resource for new product methodology. A key element of this role is to drive the ownership and leadership of the USGlobalInternational Cat teams modelling effort to be genuinely led by the business.Key RelationshipsReports to: SVP, Head of Modeling, RenRe Client AnalyticsKey Stakeholders: Underwriters located across our offices in Bermuda, Chicago, Dublin, London, Miami, New York, Singapore, and ZurichKey Partners: Underwriting, RenRe Risk Sciences, & RenRe Portfolio AnalyticsKey ResponsibilitiesAssigning submissions for modeling to global treaty modelling teamManaging and overseeing the development of a team of Risk AnalystsLiaising with executivessenior managers and Risk Analysts in various business divisions to create company standards for catastrophe risk managementPreparing policy data for use in commercially licensed property catastrophe models and proprietary modelsCommunicating relevant information to underwriters and senior managers, such as analysis results, exposure and loss analytics, and key drivers of riskCreating reports and giving presentations to senior managementAssisting in model change management related activities for catastrophe model vendor updates and the RenaissanceRe View of RiskEstimating potential losses to the RenaissanceRe portfolio from in-progress or recent catastrophic eventsComing up with new ideas to drive profitability within the organizationDeveloping leading analytics for management and clientsBuilding and maintaining underwriter, broker, client, and reinsurer relationshipsPeer review of catastrophe modeling resultsPricing of individual deals using proprietary models, including data presentation and running the models.Ensure modeling data quality requirements and internal controls processes are metMaintain tools to monitor aggregate exposure data of property businessPrepare timely loss estimates and modeling dataLiaise with underwriters in the evaluation of all aspects of reinsurance submissionsAssess and benchmark data quality, vulnerabilities, hazard, financial and policy attributes, and valuations across reinsurance submissionsUse of third-party and development of in-house tools for pattern recognition and identification of illogical and inconsistent dataCandidate Qualifications:10+ Years of related experience and working knowledge of industry catastrophe models (AIR & RMS) and MS SQLDomain knowledge of the P&C treaty reinsuranceinsurance marketUndergraduate andor graduate degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g. mathematics, economics, finance, statistics, meteorology, earth sciences, computer science, etc.)Ability to work under pressure and within a team frameworkProven organizational skills and a strong sense of attention to detailLeadership Competencies & Values:Impact: Sets objectives, delivers results, and implements policiesoperational targets with direct impact on the department or individual work outcomesExecution: Proactively identifies resources, actions and timelines needed to achieve objectives, effectively balancing tactical pressures with broader implications and downstream impactCommunication: Shares relevant information in a timely manner with stakeholders and conveys points of view in a way that influences opinions and demonstrates flexibilityClient and solutions focus: Identifies process and service opportunities that enhance the external and internal client experience and outcomesInnovation: Stretches self and others to think differently and innovatively, drawing upon multiple sources for ideas and inspirationLearning mindset: Seeks out and explores new assignments, exposure, or challenges in order to enhance technical skillsValues: Exemplifies and champions RenaissanceRe's core values of Focus, Respect, Integrity, Precision, PassionWe believe that meeting these requirements will position you for success in the role.
