With studios and resources around the world, we can help you reach the content scalability and production redundancy you're looking for without losing your brand's uniqueness.Reports to: Styling ManagerLocation: New York, New YorkPosition Summary:The Assistant Stylist is responsible for merchandise preparation, garment pairing, accessory choice as well as the direct on-set styling of merchandise samples for on-figure and off-figure photography. This position will be following creative concepts and styling standards that promote merchandise objectives and brand strategies for our clients as well as using their knowledge of current fashion trends.The Assistant Stylist will help the Stylist in their daily tasks and ensure the Stylist has all of the appropriate clothes and accessories on hand, as well as assisting in the makeup and dressing of models.Key Accountabilities and Essential Functions:1. Assist the stylist in the preparation of garments for the set.2. Help manage the flow of merchandise and accessories from prep to set, ensuring the team has the needed product.3. Track the status of products and be able to locate them at any given point throughout the studio.Position Duties:Support on-set Stylist by dressing model, sending titles of samples that are being shot to Digital Tech and enter and data information in our workflow system. Attend any meetings with the merchandising team and take notes to ensure all product is being shot with merchandising comments in mind and communicated while on shooting on set.Maintain awareness of trends and outfitting.Work with the styling team to ensure all products and styling closet are maintained and organized in a timely manner.Follow directives with regards to styling inspiring on-brand and on-trend looks daily for e-commerce photography. Ensure the targeted minimum volume of styled looks are prepared for approval on a daily basis.Work with on-set team including model, photographer, digital tech, intern, hair and makeup daily to deliver online product imagery that accurately depicts clothing and is styled according to brand standards.Responsible for keeping organizing merchandise and dressing models in a timely and organized way.Assist with styling on set when needed.Keep track of incoming samples in the studio.Develop strong, up-to-date knowledge of designers, brands, and trends relative to Straub Collaborative and its clients.Be flexible in your approach to work. Other necessary duties needed as instructed by Stylist.Experience:2-3 years of experience in styling apparel on models, mannequins, pin-ups, and lay flat for photo production.Possesses an impeccable work ethic and attention to detail. Has a current eye for fashion pairing and accessorizing outfits. Work with the styling team on overall seasonal and weekly styling, pairing models with looks that suit them and the overall fit of garments.Can follow brand visual style guides and make suggestions for improvement. A passionate understanding of runway looks and seasonal trends.Sewing experience is a plus.Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop is a plus.Associate degree in Arts, Fashion, Merchandising or similar creative background or equivalent education and experience.Skills and Abilities:Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring seamless execution through stellar organizational and time management skills. Strong attention to detail with the ability to focus on a repetitive task and consistently accurate entry of data. Solves non-routine problems in collaboration with his or her manager; takes initiative to modify procedures and processes as appropriate and makes contributions that impact work team results.Demonstrated planning skills and the ability to prioritize using information around due dates, clients, internal resource skill sets and when to escalate for assistance and awareness. Proficient skill level in Microsoft Office software programs, specifically Word and Excel. Within Excel, the candidate should be able, at a minimum, to execute a search, sort a list by applying multiple filter settings, populate a new column of data in an existing spreadsheet and manage file conversions among csv and text-based files to Excel.Ability to work both independently and within a changing team.Ability to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedules. Is respectful and courteous when interacting with others; a calm and collaborative demeanor is expected when working through conflict. Must have proficient basic math skills and ability to read, write, and speak pensation: The salary range for this position is $30,000 - $45,000, commensurate with experience and skills.
