Under the direction of Fabrication Supervisor, operate manual and automated equipment to perform assigned tasks such as precision machining of production and prototype parts, assembly of machined parts and taking accurate measurementsLocation: Hartland, WI with the potential to assist at our North Prairie location. Full-time, Non-Exempt Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThis list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time. Knowledge of how to setup and operate manual drill presses, grinders, band saws, lathes, and milling machines.Knowledge of how to setup, program, and operate CNC or mechanically controlled mills and lathes.Analytical and problem-solving skills to develop effective manufacturing plans based on specifications including the ability to reverse engineer an existing part.Knowledge of cutting speeds, feeds, and correct cutting tool selection based on material being machined.Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, sketches, and technical orders.Conduct routine and preventative maintenance and repairs to machinery they spect and measure machined parts for dimensional accuracy using micrometers, calipers, depth gages, and other forms of measurement.Regularly perform assembly of machined components.Understanding of health and safety regulations to reduce the risk of workplace accidents.RequirementsQualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. This role requires a very detail orientated individual with a high level of accuracy to the work being completed.Education andor ExperienceRequires education generally equivalent to a high school diploma and three to five years related experience to become familiar with equipment and processes. Completed courses in Tool and Die or machinist fixture making experience is preferred.Language SkillsAbility to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.Mathematical SkillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.Reasoning AbilityAbility to apply problem-solving skills to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls; reach above shoulders; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and use footfeet to operate machinery.
