Here at Kuehne+Nagel, our JamaicaQueensNew York site is looking for a new Customs Entry Writer to join our Customs team.YOUR ROLEReporting to the Area Customs Brokerage Manager you will provide outstanding customer service and complete all tasks and responsibilities related to customs entry transactions. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIESProcess shipments within department guidelines according to NBSC Customer list Controlling branch instructionsTimely and accurate input of all datainformation necessary to process and facilitate shipments through U.S. Customs Classify goods according to the customers Standard Operating Procedures andor instructionsCheck CargoWise "buckets" daily to ensure all steps in entrybrokerage processes are being followedDocument review and assessment for accuracy, verification of critical data elements for entry processing Communicate documentation discrepancies to supervisor andor controlling branchAccurate completion of all PSG data interfaces (i.e. FDA, EPA, DOT, FCC, Fish & Wildlife etc...)Answer client's (internal or external) calls or questions within 1 hour. If you are unable to, respond back and explain why and when you will reply with the answer (Manage and assist to resolve all customer queries and ensure resolution of all problems).Interact closely with internal customersdepartments to ensure customer service levels are achievedPerform audit review on all assigned brokerage files and payments to customsMaintain and keep current all customs compliance documentationProcess documents through the Company's ABI system, obtaining Customs release and other government agency releases as appropriate. Arrange both delivery and the invoicing of the import account for services renderedReview and monitor all Customs rejections, requests for information for clients and any other government agency, and other correspondence.YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES1+ years custom brokerage experience1+ years Air Logistics experience1+ years customer service experienceAbility to work with demanding deadlinesExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalBasic knowledge of Inco TermsSchedule: 5 consecutive workdays (may include weekends- flexibility is required)GOOD REASON TO JOINAt Kuehne+Nagel we strive daily to inspire, empower, and deliver not only to our customers, but also to our colleagues. Base salary is part of a competitive total rewards package that includes health and welfare benefits, a 401k retirement savings plan, tuition reimbursement, and incentive compensation for eligible roles. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, skills, job location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
