This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's core defenseintelligence services and systems. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:Directs the coordination of technical and administrative support activities including installation, repair, preventive maintenance and engineering change upgrades to be performed at client sites. Ensures adequate records and systems are maintained and policies are followed. Manages tactical and strategic operations for assigned Field Support Staff in accordance with schedules and deliverables. Appraises productivity and efficiency of assigned employees by conducting formal QCIGPS reviews in order to make recommendations on advancement. Schedules personnel responding to critical situations. Maintains communication with design management and specialists in resolving technical problems andor bringing problems to the design department's attention. Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.Leads andor selects Leader of interview teams and trains new employees.Manages the Field Support staff and functionPlans, directs and monitors activities performed on one or more field service projectsIdentifies, assesses and develops plans to attain new and ongoing business opportunitiesDevelops and presents cost and technical proposals to management and customer personnelReviews and controls usage of project fundsRepresents the company at program and customer reviewsInterviews job applicants, makes hiring decisions, and recommends salaries commensurate with qualificationsPrepares cost, technical and resources utilization budgets and reports for management reviewDevelops and conducts training plans for the work force in order to remain competitive Participates in strategy and planning meetings at the division levelLeads process improvement activitiesActively participates in the business development processInternal Interface: Other Functional Technical Teams, Technical Staff, Executive ManagementExternal Interface: Customers, Military Personnel, Government Dignitaries, External ConsultantsExpertsManages functional area through department managersManages managers andor supervisorsMost work is completed through the management of othersRecognized internally and externally as an expert in their fieldMay be required to deploy and operate with US Forces in CONUS and OCONUS field locations, to include combat zonesTravel may be required to world-wide non-field locationsSecurity Clearance may be requiredAdvanced Security Clearance, up to TS-SCI with Poly, may be requireKNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Establishes operational objectives and work plans, and delegates assignments to subordinates. Exercises supervision in terms of costs, methods, and staffing. In some instances this manager may have subordinate supervisors. Candidates must be able to obtain a Secret clearance within a reasonable amount of time from date of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.Target salary range: USD $149,239.00Yr. - USD $161,481.25Yr.
