The RoleWe are seeking a talented individual with funds experience to serve as a Vice President and Legal Associate to assist in Aquarian's investment activity and principal transactions. The role includes daily involvement with both internal and external parties to ensure that Aquarian's risks and liabilities are identified and addressed effectively. The Vice President and Legal Associate will report directly to the General Counsel.This position is in New York City. Responsibilities: Draft, and work with outside counsel to draft, investment management agreements and sub-investment management agreements with Aquarian and its affiliates and third partiesCollaborate with Finance, Operations, and Tax teams internally on calculation of management and other feesOversee and complete subscription agreements during the fund investment processProvide KYC to counterpartiesManage the preparation and upkeep of CTA filingsNegotiate and review all vendor agreements and non-deal related engagement lettersAssist the broader Aquarian legal and corporate teams, as well as outside counsel, during all capital raise processesReview and analyze commercial and other contractsExperience and Skills: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in private funds, fund formation and investment management in private practice or with another investment firmIn-house general corporate experience, a plusStrong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to understand and distill complex transactions into digestible componentsJD and admission to a state barSalary Range: $150,000 - $200,000
