Appearance Attorney

JOB SUMMARY:The Appearance Attorney will report directly to the Managing Attorney of New York Foreclosure. Responsible for handling appearances in Suffolk, Nassau and other counties in New York. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Ability to read loan documents in detail to identify what are loan documents missing and issues to address with clientsAbility to communicate with clients, referee and adversaries in a professional mannerStrong organizational skillsAbility to prepare for and appear in court for foreclosure conferences, settlement conferences and motion hearings Motivated self-starter, ability to multi-task, detail-oriented, flexible, and personable.Prepare summaries of hearings and provide results in a timely fashion Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job does not require the exercise of supervisory responsibilities. EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE:Must be licensed in New YorkKnowledge of federal, state, and local laws. This is normally acquired through a combination of the completion of a Bachelor's Degree and Juris Doctor from an accredited law schoolNo prior experience required as extensive training will be providedKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:Must possess strong written and verbal communication skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office productsAbility to manage and prioritize multiple projectsOverall good attitude and willingness to adapt to changeMust possess good organizational skillsIdentifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully.Balances team and individual responsibilities; Contributes to building a positive team spirit.Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; Looks for ways to improve and promote quality.Detailed analytic experience and organizational skills required Must have a vehicle or other means of transportationPHYSICAL DEMANDS:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
