Our goal is to be the industry's best source, and best value, for complete turn-key construction, engineering and design-build services and related products.Frontier-Kemper-Tutor Perini joint venture was awarded the Manhattan Tunnel Project, part of the Hudson Tunnel Project (HTP). A $1.18 billion design-build contract from the Gateway Development Commission for the HTP which aims to enhance rail resiliency by adding two new tracks between New York and New Jersey and rehabilitating the storm-damaged North River Tunnel. The project includes designing and constructing twin 30-foot diameter, 700-foot-long tunnels under the Hudson River, connecting to existing tunnels beneath Hudson Yards, and an access shaft at 12th Avenue, later serving as a ventilation facility.Extraordinary Projects Need Exceptional TalentDESCRIPTION:As a Field Engineer at Frontier-Kemper, reporting to the Project Engineer, you will have the opportunity to:Review project plans and develop a construction schedule in coordination with project-wide activities.Coordinate with subcontractors on advanced material acquisitions and pre-construction deliverablesDevelop and assist with obtaining quotes and draft contracts to meet project requirements.Prepare construction work plan packages and coordinate pre-construction meetings while ensuring that all prerequisites to start construction activities are identified and completed.Prepare, update, and distribute work activity schedulesupdates, and communicates across discipline groups and agencies to ensure proper advance notifications and coordination of start times.Monitor and participate daily in field construction process. Provides layout checks and technical reviews of work against requirements. Obtain confirmations from design engineer as neededAssist with subcontract administration and permanent material suppliers through monitoring of correspondence, submittals, RFI's, and performance records; Maintains accurate payment records.Assist in preparing monthly reporting for progress payments, schedule updates, and problemissue tracking and resolution. Provides accurate and factual assessments of project performance.Participate in change orders and claims managementIdentify and resolves changing site conditions or other impacts during planning of the workDevelop quality checks and coordinate permits from appropriate entitiesManage and submit project close-out in coordination with the client and third partiesREQUIREMENTS:Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management or similar, from an accredited institution5 or more years of civil construction experienceExperience on large heavy civil infrastructure projects in dense urban setting with public sector clients a plus.Knowledge of construction safety and current federal & OSHA Requirements.Project controls techniques (i.e. cost accounting, basic estimating, forecasting, and contracts)A strong working knowledge of the critical path method and resource scheduling.Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office and Primavera P6.Strong organizational and time management skills.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Good attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies.Strong work ethic - Highly motivated and willing to do what it takes to get the job done right.The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.Expected salary range for this position is $120,000 - $170,000 depending upon experienceNO STAFFING AGENCY CANDIDATES WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITIONFrontier-Kemper builds extraordinary projects, and we need exceptional talent.
